WHAT’S THE BRIEF?
We were approached by SpiderJAR with the proposition of creating an Augmented Reality experience app for Atlas Electronik UK, this would be developed specifically for Stage show usage and IPad devices.
Using the Graphic designs and models provided by SpiderJAR we would develop the interactive app where an anchor image can be detected and the submarine placed upon it. It would then be edited to better fit the scene where users could then interact with it.
WHAT WE DID
Using Unreal Engine 4 and provided models, we went through and created the Entire functionality of the app, starting at the foundation of detecting an image and placing it down we had to make sure that the AR experience was stable and capable of being used for extended periods of time.
We tested a few methods to make sure model interaction would work along with stable ar that would not just fly off at a moments notice. We eventually decided against Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) placement and instead went with image recognition.

THE RESULT
We delivered an optimised build that can be setup and customized for a stable stage show environment, capable of demonstrating an interactive submarine with products containing videos / models and particle effects to set the scene.
