Whats The Process?
Building a game from the ground up can be really time consuming and complicated. That said with our experience we can breakdown the core components of the project. With these as a foundation the project can be build up into a full game.
Understanding the brief
We invest time to understand the game concept and mechanics from the outset. We invite you to meet with us first to discuss the game in further detail so that we may suggest ideas and better understand the concept.
Design and Planning
With a brief in place, we determine how to implement the various features, game mechanics and aesthetics. We break down the specification to determine the most effective way of developing each component.
Development Process
We build the foundations of the game mechanics before anything else to ensure that the game is fun and engaging. Following this, we focus on the aesthetics and other components to ensure that the game looks its best.
Testing and Publishing
We thoroughly test each game throughout the course of development, once satisfied we provide a copy to external testers for play testing. Once the game is ready, we launch it across the required platforms.
The Tools We Used
Construct 2/3
Early on we were tasked with developing apps for web and mobile devices, We would need a tool where we can quickly turnaround prototypes and designs for clients without too much hassle. We found that the Construct engine was perfect for quick prototype turnarounds with limited programming due to its no scripting logic based building block system.
Unity
Eventually we wanted to have more control over our tools as projects became bigger and more complex. This is where the Unity engine came in. Unity gave us complete control over everything, and anything that did not exist we could make ourselves in it’s C# scripting.
UE4
Unreal Engine 4 was a massive change from the Unreal Development kit, with it’s blueprints node system and stunning base graphics. UE4 allowed us to develop professional looking 3D prototypes without having to worry about developing additional tools.

Having been initially developed as a proof of concept for a much larger product, it was later adapted to become a marketing piece for another game.
Originally built for Epic Games' Make Something Unreal Live competition, Mendel's Farm was selected by the Wellcome Trust as a flagship title to assist Children in learning genetics and inheritance.
Alphataire came to us with a exciting new word puzzle game, which played as a cross between Scrabble and Solitaire.
